RP&M
2002 Marks 10th Year for Annual Briefing
FORT
COLLINS, COLORADO, USA, April 23, 2002—Industry
consultant, analyst, and author Terry Wohlers, president of Wohlers
Associates, Inc., will deliver the Rapid Prototyping & Tooling State
of the Industry Executive Update at the upcoming Rapid Prototyping &
Manufacturing 2002 Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. This one-hour briefing
will occur on April 30 during the opening plenary session. The RP&M
2002 event marks the 10th year in which Wohlers has been asked to present
his views and opinions on this exciting and fast-developing industry. The
Society of Manufacturing Engineers and its Rapid Prototyping Association
(RPA/SME) are the sponsors of the event.
“SME has done a marvelous job with this event over the past 10 years,”
stated Wohlers. “Being affiliated with SME and its RP&M conference
has been a privilege and an important experience for me professionally,”
he continued. In 1992, Terry led a group of 14 individuals from industry
and academia to form the first association dedicated to rapid prototyping.
In 1993, the association joined SME to become the RPA/SME.
RP&M 2002 coincides with Wohlers Report 2002, an annual market
study that covers all facets of rapid prototyping, including business,
product, market, technology, and applications. Forty-nine professionals,
47 service providers, 25 system manufacturers, and countless others
assisted with its development. The 250-page softbound publication includes
25 charts and graphs, 23 tables, and 87 photographs and illustrations.
