Wohlers to Discuss Rapid Prototyping in Beijing, China

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, USA, August 6, 2002—Industry consultant, analyst, and author Terry Wohlers, president of Wohlers Associates, Inc., will serve as a keynote speaker at the Second International Conference on Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (ICRPM 2002) in Beijing, China. Wohlers will present the rapid prototyping and tooling state of the industry. The event will be held at the Xijiao Hotel on August 19-20, 2002. The conference is being organized by the Chinese Rapid Forming Technology Committee and the Center for Laser Rapid Forming of Tsinghua University. Wohlers is also serving as co-chair of the conference.

The Global Alliance of Rapid Prototyping Associations (GARPA) is holding its annual Global Summit meeting at the event. GARPA was formed in 1998 to encourage the exchange of information on RP across international borders. Past Global Summit meetings have been held in France, South Africa, and the USA. Wohlers is co-founder of GARPA and plans to participate in the meeting.

Terry Wohlers is a frequent speaker and the author of more than 250 books, articles, reports, and technical papers on engineering and manufacturing automation. One of his most recent publications, Wohlers Report 2002, is a 250-page softbound publication on rapid prototyping and tooling developments and trends.
